Just hanging Around.......

Hello Crafty friends, Hope all is good in your crafty corner of the world??
This week over at Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge is -  Anything Goes,
so in that spirit I thought I'd share a little hanging thingy I made from a re-cycled A4 Prima paper pad back cover.

Above is the top half of my project.  I primed the card with gesso, then added some book pages here & there.  Then I created my background using a few colours of distress inks (peacock feathers, salty ocean, pickled raspberry, squeezed lemonade & shabby shutters).  Next I cut out some images & sayings from Finnabairs' paper pad, placed them down and started to add texture by creating layers with stencils, buttons, washers, die cuts & other bits n bobs.  I didn't intend this to be a hanging thingy, but I wasn't pleased with a wee section so I cut it out, then joined the two halves together with jump rings!!  For good measure I added some random stamping too. oh and a final spritz with Luminarte primary colours mica.

Below is the bottom half........hope you like it?

Thanks for dropping in.....have a lovely weekend.

Happy Crafting

Ann xx

Special Friend

This is another quick card I put together to try to get my mojo back, as it's seems to have been AWOL for months now!! I hope it's on it's way back. It's a simple stamped imaged coloured with sakura glaze pens, matted onto pearlised card, some free papers made a border along the bottom of the card, I added 2 flower brads & some doodles as a border & vellum saying - Special Friend.
Hope you like it. Thanks for looking & all comments welcome!!!

My Time To Craft - Sparkle

For this challenge I've decided to make a card, the card is embossed with flowers & dragonflies, I coloured the embossed images with glimmer chalks & added gems to the dragonflies, then on a square of cream pearlised card I stamped a quotation & positioned with 3d foam. At each corner of the square mat I added little coordinating gems. I'm quite dissapointed with the photo as it doesn't show the shimmer chalks very clearly!!

Lots To Do First Challenge

As this is a new challenge blog, the ladies there decided on the theme 'From little acorns.....'
So this is my 'take' on that. I used a stamp by Anna Griffin of an Oak tree, which I coloured using colorbox petal point inks onto a white atc size of card, I edged the sides with dark green ink. Then matted this onto a green tag, attached a skeleton leaf with a leaf shape brad & added some acorns!!
First challenge complete!!!

The Sunday Stampers - Week 9

As it's Linda's Birthday this week Hels asked Linda to set the challenge & what a fab challenge it was- add a hat to any image.........Had to be Mona didn't it!!! I know Hels used Mona as her example but I think I've put a slightly different edge on it, and as I'm seeing Gothic Arches almost everywhere I had a slight angle on them too........a girl has to be different, don't you think??
So here we have it Queen Mona - complete with crown/hat LOL!!! Happy Birthday Linda!!!!!
Hope you likeee. Click on image for closer view

Sunday Stampers - I'm a Laydeeeee

For this challenge Hels asked everyone to use a 'Laydeeee' image, I've used a lovely stamped image sent to me by a friend who just recently got some fab new stamps, I edged the stamp with gold krylon pen, the attached onto a black card, simply made from A4 card halved, with a gold shimmer matt on the left hand side, I finished off by adding two corner peel -offs.

My Time to Craft - Quotes & Sayings

As this weeks challenge is Quotes & Sayings , I decided to make bookmarks which I could then use in a swap on the Lots To Do forum , so as the saying goes I was 'killing two birds with one stone', so to speak!!! I cut three pieces of card stock, then inked 3 Adirondack inks onto my craft mat & spritzed with water, the colours I used were Cranberry, Butterscotch & Stream, next I placed my bits of card onto the craft mat & when I had the desired effect I blasted them with my heat gun to dry off, I then stamped my saying onto them in black stazon ink, and repeated the procedure for the other side. I used my crop-o-dile to punch a hole & then fixed an eyelet in place, edged the bookmark with gold krylon pen & added ribbon - my bookmarks were complete. I really liked the mixture of colours & was quite pleased with the finished items.

Tag Swap - Flowers

These are my tags for Hels monthly tag swap, the theme for March is Flowers and I have quite a lot of flower stamps so it took forever just to pick out the stamps to use!!! Then when I did get around to making the tags..........I lost my mojo!!!! I did a couple & have still to add some fibres to finish them off.....and have to make some more to replace the ones I binned ^_^ .

My first attempt at masking technique

This is a technique I've been meaning to try for ages, so I did!!! And I was quite pleased with efforts - I think we'll be seeing a whole lot more of this in the future!!!! What do you think???

Distress Fat Page Swap

I've joined a swap on the lot's to do forum, which is a list of 10/11 people & we all have to make 2 fat pages - 4"x4", for each person on the list - we will in return receive 2 pages from each member, which can then made made into a lovely little book, as the title suggests all the pages are made in a 'distressed theme' - above are some of the pages I've made!!! Hope you like them.

My Time To Craft - Flowers

The lovely ladies at My Time To Craft have set the challenge this week to use flowers in your project - I made 2 different fat book pages for this challenge, using stamps I recently bought from QVC and my favourite ink pads yet again, a combination of Adirondack & Distress inks.
Hope you like my flowers!!!

The Sunday Stampers - Week 7

This weeks challenge is Turning Japanese.....cue for a song? An Oriental theme!! Once again I decided to make a fat book page, the stamp I've used is from a set of four which I bought from Ideal World about 18 months ago, I used a dark blue ink then embossed with dark blue powder, cut out the image & mounted on my page which was made using Adirnondack stained glass ink pad & finished off by edging with a silver Krylon pen.
